Submachine Wiki
Re: Submachine Wiki
I think it's a bit too much. There aren't many active people in the wiki, and some of them aren't interested in voting. Four (or even three) would be better in my opinion.
Re: Submachine Wiki
Bumped down to three.
Also: Since we know so much about the Submachine already, now with Sub10 and probably more with Submachine: The Engine, I propose removing the list of confirmed theories (as there will be many, I assume) and replace it with a solid timeline/explanation of concepts to which people can refer to (which would be supported by the confirmed theories)

Re: Submachine Wiki
I agree. I had that idea some time ago. The page still exists:
http://submachine.wikia.com/wiki/The_Submachine_World
But it's VERY outdated, it's from the time of Sub7. We could complete it (and change the name if necessary).

Re: Submachine Wiki
Guys, what have you done with wiki front page? Why it has SO MUCH crap on it?
Front page needs to be informative, but it doesn't need to have links to f-ing everything. Nor it should have link to every single game, there already hub link for all submachine games, on Mat site (http://www.mateuszskutnik.com/submachine/) why just not use it?
And don't use it as to do list, it should have link to community to do list, but it shouldn't be to do list itself.
Please sort it out, I never seen wiki front page that was such a mess.

Re: Submachine Wiki
The idea is to save clicks to users who want to play/buy the games. And things like the sub2 sketch aren't in that page. Is it so bad, when it's hidden in a tabber? If one doesn't want to see the links, just don't click on the tab, not? XDBloodhit wrote:Front page needs to be informative, but it doesn't need to have links to f-ing everything. And what do you mean links to everything? MOST the wikis I've seen have social media tabs of Facebook and Twitter. I think it doesn't do harm. If you guys think it's too cluttering, we could go back to the old link format.
EDIT: or maybe there's an option to hide every tab by default. I'll look into that.
I agree that the front page is too cluttered though.
- New users will be confused if presented with too much information in big letters and images.
- Content should be above everything, the immense majority of users won't be interested either in voting or editing (remember the rule of 90% viewers, 10% contributors!), so we shouldn't overpromote it, it could even scare off some potential visits.
- I think the logo should be smaller, and in the right part, like it was before, to avoid taking too much space from the links to stuff (it already looks ugly since it collides with the header on the right part).
- I also agree that the to-do list should be either smaller or link to a separate page.
Re: Submachine Wiki
*feels eyes of entire forum boring into me*
Alright, I'll fix it later.
And Bloodhit, don't call the entire forum out; just me will do
(Oh and Vortex, why not tell me you had these thoughts when I made the changes?)
Addendum:
Just edited it. Summary:
-moved logo to right side
-moved to-do list to a link in the community portal
-moved theory voting link to right column
-removed other images, etc.

Re: Submachine Wiki
Well, I didn't think it was that important, some of the changes were temporary anyways. I did mean to tell you about the logo, but I just forgot about it, sorryJatsko wrote:(Oh and Vortex, why not tell me you had these thoughts when I made the changes?)
Re: Submachine Wiki
It's alright, I didn't keep in mind that a home page should be more concise.
(also, I find it the slightest bit odd that the "People" icon is a cat. lol)
(also: New poll!)
