<sorry for taking too long. let's resume!>

<don't worry, Sublevel is right about the rule but since they're straightforward commands and most are a summary of what other people said I'll accept it this time>
ShadowNiL wrote:Take the magnifying glass, batteries, and the steel bar from the drawer.

Steel bar because it could be potentially used as a weapon...just in case...
Batteries cuz they're all-round useful; take them.
IDK bout the magnifying glass, but hey, take whatever seems worth getting or has any use!
Rule 1 of point and click escape the rooms like our very own Submachine, eh?
Oh yeah, Submachine is one of Ian's favorite web games! He even remembers the time he was a lurker in the game's official forum, called "Pastel Forum"... but well, that's another story that doesn't matter now :P
But this isn't an escape the room game. After all, the door is open and he can leave whenever he wants... right?

Anyways, your reasoning sounds convincing enough to Ian. He adds the three items to his inventory.

Good idea! Ian turns on the power saving mode on his phone.

He must still be careful and use his phone sparingly, or it might die when he most needs it.
Sublevel 102 wrote:Ian: Take wallet & keys from upper drawer.
Ian adds his wallet & keys to the inventory.

Sublevel 102 wrote:Check what is in wallet. And what are that keys for?

Ian has essential documents, like his ID card, and some money inside. Those keys are his home keys. As it should be, Ian never goes anywhere without his phone, keys and wallet. He doesn't think they will be of much use here though.

With some effort, Ian moves the planks to the side, and finds another battery. He takes it too.

He wonders what could all those batteries be for...

Ian: Check behind the drawer and under/inside pillow. Maybe something useful lies there...
oh, and lower drawer is locked?

No, there is nothing behind the drawer, nor inside/under the pillow.

Also, yes, the lower drawer is locked. It has remained like that since his aunt lost the key somewhere in the room. She's so scatterbrained sometimes...

Try to open the door leading out of the room.
If it opens, close the door back, and search for the lower drawer key in the room. Can't leave unless we check all that we can!

Ian goes to the door, turns the doorknob aaand...

...it is open, as expected.

Ian looks under the bed...

...nothing. Under the wardrobe...

He sees something! It must be the key. But it's too far to reach by hand...

Use the steel bar to reach the key.

Ian: After you know what to do with this: check for new mails/calls on your phone.
