I believe that may be a reference to the Tremors series of films. I haven't seen those in years! It's making point to the third stage of the movie's monster's cycle, therefore they called it an AssBlaster.

It had something to do with the thing poking itself out of toilets and pipes.

Correct.
But the reason why they are called that are different reason than what you describe.

An Assblaster is a creature which it can glide with the wings on its back.
But the back part of them, where idiotically there would be the anus. But instead have two chemicals that are harmless separately, but when mix together in the nether regions of the AB, it creates an explosive reaction which then the AB then uses to get a take off trajectory, which then using its wings glide around.

has anyone by chance noticed that using the quick reply function in one thread, will post your response to another thread? this has happened to me twice now... i think its a rare glitch, since it doesn't happen too often.

They are a few glitchs with phpBB:

Sometimes when pressing Submit, the posts are duplicated.

Rarely hapens that writing before words cause the next words to erase.

Always when your post is long an you are writing at the bottom, moving the mouse outside the text box causes that the box went back to the top.

Sometimes longer posts cause a rip in posting/editing pages.

For me it happens when I press by accident the "Insert" key in my keyboard. If you press it again it disappears
