Yes, SDS would be the defense system.
But if you look at the C, and look at the dots around it, it makes a partial circle.
Maybe by going through The Edge, you end up at The Core.
Something like this is what I mean.

Does SDS mean Subnet Defence Systems?
Something I noticed moments earlier:
sds - tc = Secondary Defense System - Turret Chain
It fits all too well to be otherwise.

Wait, I figure it out.
1-12 - Primary Defense System is the defense for The Core.
2-18 - Secondary Defense System is the Outer Rim Defense System.
You could shut down both the Outer Rim Defense System
And The Core Defense System from the Edge.
I think he did not only want to invade The Core
But also be able to let the Submachine expand
So he could explore beyond The Outer Rim.

Outer edge of Outer Rim... doesn't exist. Subnet continues to expand. No limits. No end. No edge.
Wait, am I wrong?..
Yes. Worldisquiet is correct with his diagram of the submachine network.
If anyone had archived the old Submachine theory threads on the old forum, you may come across a post of mine with a link to an image. The image is actually a copy of a Facebook conversation that I had with Mateusz a few years back, where he confirmed that the edge is the end of the submachine network. There is no further expansion. You might even be lucky enough to find Mateusz saying it here too.
What are you saying is out of context. This doesn't have relation with WIQ's diagram, its just that Mateusz confirmed that the Edge is the Edge and the Subnet no longer expands.
We are now discussing if the Edge and the Defense Systems are the same thing.
Also, if the Subnet no longer expands, how did the Subnet evolves after that?
Does the Edge exist in other layers to stop the further expansion of the Outer Rim?

what the...
Gemini, is it your post?:
They did find a way to stop the expansion. The Edge. As told to me over facebook by Mateusz. The Edge is the end of the outer rim. Its the very edge of the entire submachine infestation.
Taken from old forum.
I want to see Mateusz's confirmation post right now...
---
Also, so, if Edge from Sub6 is outer edge of Outer Rim, so what is inner edge? What is betwen Core and Outer Rim?
They did find a way to stop the expansion
and who are "they"? ;)

image is deleted right now. XD

Sorry, I am very stupid these last days... XD
ontopic: Yes, it could be...
Does SDS mean Subnet Defence Systems?
Yes. Mateusz told it to my post in Facebook as well. As I remember...
But when I asked "what does tc mean? Turret chain?" - he didn't want to answer directly and said "maybe".

Probably not. I would think that the Edge houses the mainframe of the Defense Systems, but the Defense Systems itself is probably located somewhere near the core. Since we needed to shut them down to allow the invasion to gain access to the core.
I disagree. In Sub 6, we pass right under a defense turret, which the secret map shows as surrounding the core and outer rim.

Lets say that the terminal works like an internet browser, now I access this forum, which is located on a server in some other state or country. Its not right near me, its located far away. Mateusz's account allows him to access this forum and his account is nowhere near me, its in Poland. You see what I'm getting at?
Its very well possible that the defense turrets were located in another part of the submachine network, and the terminal allows direct access to those far away turrets. There could very well be turrets located at the Edge, who knows. But I'm willing to bet they are located in strategic points around the network. Not just one location.
Your logic is sound, however, if you look closely at the ceiling
here, you can see the base of what I assume to be a turret, as shown in the diagram inside the terminal.

Thats sounds right, thanks Gem, maybe the Defense System are actually spread in the Subnet, with the mainframe being in the Edge. Never thinked about.
Regarding the turret: The one founded within Sub6 is the turret chain #512. Maybe the first 500 turret chains are those that boards the core. Maybe they are loots of turret chains expreading the Subnet, this explains maybe the evidence of movers, cameras and Subbots in the entire Subnet.

About the Defense Systems, I think they could still be in the Edge if the turret chains are enough long-range. But I like your ideas more

For long time, members where discussing about life in the Subnet. Sub7 and Sub8 proved that, but almost everything what we found are plants. We are the animals then?
Then I realized that in GLX there are spider webs, does that proves the presence of spiders in the Subnet? The presence of animals in the Subnet?
