first and main theory:
Mateusz would read our theories in comments and would make purpose of this device different from any of our assumptions.

MAti the evil genius.

My first-second-in-mind theory is it's some kind of detector. Karmic thread would pulse more frequently when we're staying in right screen, as karmic stabilizer glows when we are in necessary location.
What it detects?.. hmm Some kind of karmic nodes? Or anomalies?
