Aech, I still have a hard time believing that blue karma portals have multi-layer origins...

He has to focus all of his "layer arms" into one spot to create a portal.
He has to 'pinch' the layers together with his fingers.

Okay, so when Murtaugh lost his arm at Kent, he found that he had 7 arms.
He also found that when he focused them in one spot a karma portal was created.
This graph shows the seven layers being focused together because Murtaugh's 'focus' was seeing all the layers at once.

That Makes Sense.

Also, love your interpretation of the Note.

I always thought it was so all 7 of him were in one layer at once. So he wouldn't become 'Diplopia' back into the seven layers.
