Do you mind me asking - what games do typical Submachine fans generally play? I'm not much of a computer game player but I do like escape and riddle games, and was a big reader/player of gamebooks.

I, myself, am not much into Minecraft or any other type of RPG (at least, nowadays - Used to play Runescape and Pirates of the Caribbean Online way back when.)

I don't know if you've seen, but I'll put up the heads-up - PastelGames (comprised of Mateusz and Karol Konwerski, among others) has a multitude of games ranging from Covert Front to Fog Fall to Daymare Town (thus the banner on this site.) Those are really the only types of games I play, as well as Fancy Pants Adventures and other types of flash games. Not really into the "Computer Game" aspect, if you're referring to games like Call of Duty (of which you can play online, I mean.)

Think the reason I was put off Submachine at first was because the game is so small, I tended to miss things, and the graphics weren't as appealing as some games I've played. The Loop looked promising but I assumed, from the way it starts, that you could click round it for ages before finding anything, which put me off.

Oh, yeah, The Loop may not be the greatest starting place for a new fan of Submachine :/ I've seen stories, as well as myself, of most of starting with Sub2: The Lighthouse. If you think the game's small, I guess 10 Gnomes might not be for you (another series Mateusz created), as well as the "Where is?" series (basically finding the New Year, I find it fun to play.)

I'm sure you've learned that if you look hard enough, you can find what you're looking for

And I guess the Graphics are an acquired taste, I've never really heard any complaints.

i'm Diamonds, formerly Subman, and I have eight main interests: physics, math, computer science, music (I play trumpet and piano), typography, webcomics, and lastly, board games (like chess or Go). i hate all sorts of stereotyping or prejudice, and enjoy explaining things. i use a Linux, which I love, and a Mac, which I'm indifferent about. i, uh, um... well... yeah. I don't think I ever continued following this thread after the first few pages...
I'll just have to reintroduce myself: I'm the Abacus (for the sake of anonymity) and my interests include: general philosophy, architecture, general science and ethics. My primary hobbies include reading and creative writing. Like Diamonds I hate all sorts of stereotyping, and value individuality.

Like Rooster, I don't play any RPGs anymore nor any "Computer Games" like Call of Duty or anything else of the sort. Generally I look for interesting games on the web that I find meaningful to me. Most often these include point-and-click games but have also included: interactive art, puzzle platformers and more recently, interactive texts (I don't know what the 10gnome series is classified under).

I'd say 10 Gnomes is point-and-click JayIsGames has it categorized as something else though.

By "interactive text," I assume you mean something like MSPaintAdventures - Homestuck and the like?

Rooster - I've just remembered, I tried 10 Gnomes and Daymare Town before Submachine and didn't enjoy them much, which put me off. As soon as I struggled to find a small item I switched off, expecting much of the same. As you can imagine I'll be trying the HD versions of Submachine 7 and 8 pretty soon (full screen!)
