Meditations
Re: Meditations
I totally agree! I would call the place within us these things emerge as "the heart" or "soul" if you prefer, which I see as the totality of all that we are, not just our emotions, intellect, will, desires, etc, but all of them together. Yet these acts of creation all require acts of destruction.
You have to destroy some part of the earth to get minerals and fuels for your acts of creation.
You have to shave an animal to get hairs for your brushes.
You have to destroy another's belief system to create a better one.
You have to destroy a plant or animal to maintain life itself.
You have to use the opportunities another might have made use of to do anything.
It is all a part of a spectrum on which you are positioned somewhere, not an absolute you can cling to.
You have to choose every day how much damage you will do and how much creativity you will replace your acts of destruction with so as to increase the overall good and do your best to make sure your acts of destruction are not evil.

Can we not choose to recycle?Redafro wrote:You have to destroy some part of the earth to get minerals and fuels for your acts of creation.
Can we not choose to let the animal live after you shaved it, and allow it to grow a new coat?Redafro wrote:You have to shave an animal to get hairs for your brushes.
Can we not choose to "Agree to Disagree."?Redafro wrote:You have to destroy another's belief system to create a better one.
Can we not choose plant the seed from the destroyed plant in its place?Redafro wrote:You have to destroy a plant or animal to maintain life itself.
Can we not choose to let the animal to give birth before we consume it?
Can we not choose to share the opportunity?Redafro wrote:You have to use the opportunities another might have made use of to do anything.
With the transformation of the human race at that point in the past
We have been given the ability of "Choice".
The ability to say "No", even when our life is in threat.
While still given the ability to think about saying "Yes"
If then we decide that it is the good thing to do at the moment.
O Freunde, nicht diese Töne!
Sondern laßt uns angenehmere anstimmen,
und freudenvollere.
Freude!
Re: Meditations
It's a good system your suggesting, but no, you can't recycle everything, and there is still inevitable waste involved. And yes, you can choose to replant and encourage herds of livestock to flourish, but you STILL have to kill some if you want to live. Your simply agreeing with me that you have to choose the destruction that does the least big of destruction and then choose to productively build from that. And you can agree to disagree if both parties are agreeable to it and neither of their systems is destructive by nature. And again, my point is that we don't even realize some of the destruction we are creating.

Its simple depredation. Also, sedentarism and agriculture able us to make sure our food survives so why have it for many years.
And you have no idea of how would be the world if recycling is the law. :p

Re: Meditations
We have an endless supply of water.
The water you drink now, will then exit your system, and back into the atmosphere.
That evaporated water will then float up to the clouds.
Then...when enough water is in a group, it will rain.
Then the water droplets will fall on your roof.
You will then at some point need to go outside.
You have an umbrella, but some of the water drops fall in at an angle.
One of the droplets will soon fall on your lip.
You will lick you lip with you tongue to wipe the water droplet from your lip.
That droplet will then enter you mouth, then into your body again.

the fact is that everything has a cycle, some cycles are larger than other, and much slower, but they are there.
Wevare with what you are discussing. I'm very intolerant in some instances. Don't you?

How would you describe your co-posters on Pastel Forum?
Food for thought.

Agreed, it is those connections that allows a person to look at things from so many different perspectives.Redafro wrote:Non-linear, but not unorganized of course. Linearity, to me, is data organized around few dimensions, thus having less depth and breadth. by non-linear I mean that the connections are more rhizomatic, a complex web of interconnections.
Definitely true, but we haven't been very successful in not abusing our strengths...World is Quiet wrote:These are the things I treasure.
The things I shout in joy for having.
The things I think we are bless to have in the first place.
The things we take for granted sometimes.
The things I dance for each day in celebration for having.
These are the things that separate us from the animals.
These are the things that at one point in the past
We were gifted to receive.
These are the things that make us who we are.
Exactly.Redafro wrote:It's a good system your suggesting, but no, you can't recycle everything, and there is still inevitable waste involved. And yes, you can choose to replant and encourage herds of livestock to flourish, but you STILL have to kill some if you want to live.
I'll leave that question for somebody else to answer for the moment...Boingo wrote:How would you describe your co-posters on Pastel Forum?
Balance is imperative; without it, total collapse and destruction is imminent.

That is a hard question to answer...
