And give some of your junk to Snarr. Make him more glad!

(Nice to see someone else playing after a long time. :) )

Try adding some of the lubricant to the hinge of the hatch. Then try pushing it open again.
You take another look at the hatch:

You don't see any hinge. You could try putting lubricant on the place where the hatch meets the wall, but the lubricant could just slide down. Maybe if you used the lubricant somewhere else...

You go back to the control room and give Snarr the metal tool and the grey box, so now both you and Snarr have an equal number of items.

Snarr: Thanks.

Hmm...
Use the lubricant on the hinge/base of the jammed lever, then pull it down.
Balance is imperative; without it, total collapse and destruction is imminent.

You put a little lubricant on the base of the lever, then pull it down.

You hear a squeaking sound coming from the gears on your right, but you only manage to push the lever a little bit more than before.

Check the hatch. If it's open, climb up.

You check the hatch:

You see that the hatch has opened enough for you or at least Snarr to climb through, but when you want to climb out, you see whatever that was shining light through the room is now blocking your way out:

You hit it with your crowbar, and it closes up:

Weird.

Snarr: Is the hatch opened?
60: Yes, but there was this bright bulb that was shining through the corridor blocking the way. Now I think it's safe to go.
Snarr: Ok, you climb out first, then I'll follow.

Go up and stare in awe at the scenery
After Snarr climbs out, you stare in awe at the scenery:

60: This is awesome, I've never seen another planet that close before, at least, as far as I can remember.
Snarr: Me neither. Maybe after we find your friends we can look for more places like this.
60: Perhaps, but there is the war with the Alpans...
