sub3 was mainly disliked for the double ending.
sub6... probably due to the lack of items, but that is the thing, each submachine game, different innovation. sub5 had the auto notes system, sub6, one item is all you need. sub7 introduced karma portals, sub8 introduced the layer switcher device, which was tedious at first, but as you got the hang of it... it worked like a charm.

its one thing i like about submachine, each game improves on the other. some games you play out there, you get what you had in the original, no game mechanic changes, just stays the sames, the plot changes, characters change and items change, but the mechanics? same.

submachine raises that bar by changing things up. i think for that reason, its one of the reasons people enjoy it so much.
Thanks Gem!

BTW, Sub6 is hated because of the puzzles, not the items (Said Sublevel).

I wasn't much of a fan of sub3, but that was because the lack of variation, not really the double ending. And sub6 is probably one of my favorites, mainly out of my interest in submachine computer systems.

I actually enjoyed Sub_3 because I always remember how freaked out I was when I first played it. Still does. Sub_3 was and still is the most claustrophobically oppressive Submachine game in the series. I also enjoyed Sub_6, though I didn't much at first. The game grew on me and I found it to be quite polished in term of gameplay and plot mixture despite the puzzles requiring simple chains of logic. And now that I have contributed to the off-topic discussion... let get back on-topic :P

I see there's no new additions to SNEE while I was gone. That's okay. I don't expect another this year since Mateusz made a great update earlier this year.

Why 859 has Sub6 secret notes and not Sub8 ones?
