Why do I get the sense I do nothing but scrap ideas nowadays?

Well, if it means we have a better game at the end, then there's nothing wrong with that.

Don't forget the Mr. exposition!
The android will supply extra information to let you know what happened (to convince you to get the evidence willingly), and with the evidence you have you can piece it all together...not forgetting that we also find one crucial surviving piece of evidence (or maybe we have a camera
)... And then the android attempts to kill you. Yeehar.

Which reminds me... I though we could foreshadow the expodroid's betrayal, by initially giving the player access to some file claiming it's designed for "...e-conta...", with the implication that the full word is "decontamination". As it attempts to kill us, it's revealed to be "recontainment" (Of material and test subjects) Also, as for how we come across evidence that expodroid doesn't want us to, it won't travel with us through the wires, only follow/guide the player's flesh body.

Yeah. Mr. exposition wasn't really accurate, as that applies only to characters that tell others things they already know, not just anybody that's important for revealing things to the audience.

I like the idea, but it'd have to be a paper file right? Computer files aren't in the habit of partially disapearring.

indeed.
Well, I'm glad I remembered. Does this mean we can now carry on with planning the puzzles?
Because if you don't mind, I may have a go at making a sketch of the entire game based in what we have, and then maybe work from thereon.
If that's ok.

Sure.

True... I do think we'll need partially damaged files as plot/puzzle devices eventually, though, so we might as well find a good explanation. An emergency data wiping program gone haywire? Or internal backup systems in computers that have been partially successful in maintain data?

Yes, so if it's a computer file it should be corrupted. I believe an email would then look something like this:
Code: Select all
Subject: [corrupted data]
Date: [corrupted data]
From: [corrupted data]
To: [corrupted data]
CC: [corrupted data]
The experiments seem to going according to plan, although we seemed to have detected several anomalies. We can't be sure of what they are, but we suspect they [corrupted data] effect of stretching/altering time [corrupted data]. They supposedly shouldn't have any effect in the development of the technology, but our researchers are still investigating.
We have had several breakthroughs and we are in the final stages of the designing the [corrupted data]; all we need to do is figure out how to differentiate long or short term mental effects, an obstacle that we are close to overcoming. Also we [corrupted data]

(Originally I used code from opening a jpg file using a word processor/basic text editor instead of the "corrupted data," but for some reason part of the post would disappear when I submitted it)
