Well, it's the Temple, kinda obvious really.

I was hoping for something more metaphorical behind the word Temple.

O RLLY?

I mean, why do you think it is Temple location?

I suppose it's well inside the Temple, probably near the end of the game (like the Sub7 teaser screen of Liz's ship).

I really love that color scheme, and the blue flame detail, it looks even more mystical than Sub7's palace :D
what I'm wondering is what does that golden circumference do there? I don't think it's related to the new mechanism Mateusz talked about, because one doesn't reveal things like that in a teaser... but it must surely have some function :P

EDIT: it kinda reminds me of the Ship, too...

I might have an idea for what the Temple is "Worship" For.
I keep thinking that it was built with the ideas for architecture specifically built for Cataloging, or Preserving the other Layers even when they are gone.
Like how the Palace of Green Porcelain in H.G. Wells The Time Machine was actually a museum. I reference this because the temple may serve the same reason for the story.

Cause when I see this, this might have something to do with the Interdenominational Layer Structure in Layer 2 and 3. The ring item that couldn't be open from layer 3 but layer 2.

The Elephants statues might be made to preserve the Elephants from Layer 3.
I think there might have once been elephants in layer 3, cause its the only location/layer in Submachine 8 that would look like it once was inhabitant by elephants. I think that because of the leaves on bamboo, and the background is consumed by the Void.
I will explain more when I get my internet back.

Symbols on the walls. They appear several times in the subnet in submachine universe, but not in any of the other main games, to my knowledge.

You forgot my coordinate 628 :D

And yep, no main Submachine games have any of these symbols.
