It is my understanding that the Maya themselves never predicted an apocalypse in 21.12.2012, just a party because it is, like, super new year's eve.
Now
that, I like.
Well, actually Mayans perceived the world as a cycle of worlds being destroyed and created all over again. So yes, it was cyclic, but there still was sort of an apocalypse (every 4 thousand + a few years).
But if the world's created
again, then it's not necessarily an end to
everything, as an apocalypse dictates.

But still, we'd be dead. Human race won't be in this "new age" probably. So it is something highly resembling apocalipse.

But then wouldn't this "new age" go through evolution yet again...? So everything repeats up to Friday? XD

But 21/12/2012 is a date in a Christian calendar system. Mayans didn't know who the heck Christ was, or that he even existed, or that they'd start counting time after he was born. They didn't choose that date to mess with people, it's just a pure coincidence.
It isn't like there is some huge calendar written out there that arbitrarily ends
Yes, I do know this. However, I am ignorant of the method used to convert the Mayan dates to the Christian calendar system, otherwise I would have substituted the (21/12/2012) for the Mayan equivalent date.
=P
But either way the 21/12/2012 is the end of the Mayan calender, whether you express the date in the Mayan format or not.
I was also being silly and a little bit facetious... I wasn't expecting such a ridiculously absurd topic to be taken so seriously.

It is 13.0.0.0.0, a very nice round number.

That's just superstition! You know, because 21.12.2012 phenomenon is
totally not superstition.

Fine,it's a hoax.Someone translated the date again and came up with dec. 7.
Anyway, what are the chances of a date from a completely different calendar being translated into another one with the result consisting of only 3 digits(0,1,2)?

It depends. If the calendar in question is written in base 3, then the chances are 100% XD
