That's assasins creed, isn't it? Do you recommend it?

Because I'm always thinking of buying it when it is on sale, but some reviewers say the first game was "repetitive"

Yes that is AC: Rouge

The entire series is repetitive. But AC3 fleshes it out, but it still retains the repetitiveness and frustration. Beware: There are some poorly designed features and missions throughout the series, along with some ridiculous special objectives for missions. Also there are bugs. Like the AI bug they have yet to fix... Basically the AI can't differentiate between friend or foe. If you were to attack a French soldier for example, British soldiers would in response attack you, even though the British and French are sworn enemies.

Do I recommend the series? Sure. But perhaps rent the first couple games before jumping into AC3, that way you don't have buyer's regret in case you don't like the series.

Also before you think you can just jump in and play AC3 or AC: Black Flag before the other games, nope... this is that particular series where you have to play it from the first game, to the most recent to get the gist of the stories. Otherwise you'll be lost and confused. Yes I said stories. There are multiple plotlines within each game, and each game aftewards ties up the previous threads, but then opens up new ones.

For example, AC3 actually takes place after the events of AC: Black Flag, while AC: Rouge takes place during and after the events of AC 3. So you're looking at a game series with games that are pre-quels, mid-quels and sequels. :P

Sadly, we don't have a game rental store here, but maybe there's a demo online.
Thanks, anyways. Tied plotlines sound interesting. :)

Does anyone else know of more variations?
romanticist: this crystalline liquid hails from the deepest reaches of the unknown, primaeval caverns, sacred wells of perfect purity, untouched by the original sin of humankind but bringing joy to the whole of it, needed, desired, making all of life possible by its mere presence
semanticist: the sentences "the glass is half full" and "the glass is half empty" carry nearly the same pragmatic meaning, but the former sounds more natural to a regular conversation; moreover, tentative hypotheses about the speaker's general outlook on life could be drawn.
