First off, I would like to know where that pasageway that leads off of the left staircase goes. It also appears to be where most of the red resin is coming from.

THe only reason I have to connect these thoughts is that the red color of the resin is directly the inverse of the cyan karma portals on an RGB scale

I really think those pipes just carry karmic water, we see some directly connected to the fountain.
