I feel this is some pretty good reasoning too, but Vortex's post has some better points. Maybe it is just before his post was before yours, but I really think some of his points disprove some of yours.

Can't you just extend the strategy you used for triangular numbers? It's effectively the same formula with a little bit of stuff added.

I feel sorry you've been alienated from this coversation. You see, their speech involved a highly revolutionary, fresh concept called a "joke". Linguists are amazed by this wondrous invention. These "jokes" are meant to cause diaphragm contractions, particularly interesting for biologists, while also supposedly amazingly pleasant.
