Sub10 will finish Player's, Murtaugh's and Elizabeth's and MAIN submachine storyline.
If at the end we will find out NOTHING about Submachine, then it can't be called "main series". That's obvious.

Questions can be there after Sub10 ending, but they would be answered in...
Did you hear term " Expanded Universe"?

"We" are going to the end of the series. Where everything is (supposed to be) answered. Then we will know everything... but isn't the series exactly fun for destroying everything we though that was correct about the Sub, time after time, game after game? Even though there might be spin-offs, the essence of the truth will still be there. We'll be enlightened. But do we really want to know the truth?

"They" are the new players. New fans, those who can already play all games in a sequence. The mystery will be completely lost for them. When I first played the Sub, I believe Sub5 had just been recently launched. Sub6 was a complete incognito for all Sub fans at that time. As a part of that time, I was left there wondering what could the Sub really be. Not a single game in my whole life moved me as much as the Sub did - I wanted so bad to know, to understand, and I always liked how even though every game revealed more about the story, each game also meant that many other questions would be raised.

This waiting game was a huge part of the fun - between the launch of each game, I was left with lots of time to think, to wonder, to imagine. MONTHS between each game! This made the story much, much more significant to me - because I wanted to know, as the story was interesting, but I could not know more, because there were no other games. Waiting in doubt was, somehow, one huge part of the series' fun. It mattered more for me because the other games weren't immediatly accessible to me. When a new gamer comes, though, he'll be able to simply swim from Sub1 to Sub10, because they're all for him to play. No days waiting for the mystery to reveal itself. No hope for a new bit of information on the next game - he knows that there's an end with answers.

My point here is that I'm afraid that, when the Sub ends, also will one of its greatest trumphs - how it manages to force the player to think about what they've just seen. When you can simply play the next game, you won't look for the answers from your head, or think about it. Just play the next one and everything will be shown quickly. It won't matter that much for new Sub players, because they can play all games from the go - and so they don't need to think about the series' world. They'll be missing great part of the fun.

...I think that the Submachine means way too much for me. :I
I was there almost from the start in 2006 when I remember playing Sub_1 (the extended version) for the first time. I didn't think much about that game and found it to be a nice little PNC game with creepy ambient. I said ALMOST from the start because I wasn't fully invested in the little tale that Mateusz has crafted. Then sometime later in 2006 (during the fall, I believe), I stumbled upon Sub_2. Curious about the supposed sequel, I replayed the first game and remembered about how I enjoyed the little interesting game.

Then I played Sub_2. Then rest is history.

I joined the forum afterward and were totally hyped about the upcoming Sub_4. Then Sub_4 came and blew everyone's and my frigging minds off and nothing was ever the same again.

8 frigging years I stuck around with the best mysterious sci-fi PNC series on the net.

Nothing will ever compares to this.
NOTHING.

as I'm trying to get away from this nightmare...
I'm beginning to feel right at home here.
And that worries me...
(Fog Fall 4)

And now it perfectly fits for Submachine, before its end.

No, its not really.
The only reason he said that was because, when the fog fall in the first game, it transported him to an alternate universe.

Cause that skeleton behind the brick wall, it was him.
At least the him who originally owned that fall out shelter.

Plus, he goes in for one night.
When he gets out more than 5 years have already pass.
The only way for that to happen is if he slip into an alternate universe when the Fog Fell.
