I think it would be of use if Mat ever decided to make official public statements on how his work can be used, considering people keep asking and we keep running into issues regarding it. I think making IP statements is something most legit game developers do already anyway.

(Also, when was it such a controversial idea that you shouldn't just go redistributing stuff that other people made without their permission? :P)

Yeah, it would be nice to have an easily accessible reference. If I recall correctly, most of Mat's comments on the topic are now only in the archives, troublesome to dig up.

yes, generally ripping off my creations is not cool. As for music and remixes - that's a different story. That music does not belong to me, it belongs to ThumpMonks. They see no problem in remixes. But taking my side of the game, mainly graphics is a big no no.

He also noted how people keep asking him the same questions as usual, which I found interesting. I guess that's a drawback of being a (semi) easily accessible game dev; you're actually aware of the new audience you get and the fact they're discovering your stuff for themselves for the first time.

Anyway, this is the best thing we have for now in place of an IP statement, so. Make sure you follow his Discord for all the hot news, I guess.

I haven't seen a lot of his watercolours, but is it me or are they a bit more washed out than usual? (not sure how to explain it sorry)

remaking my games - even if non-profit - is a no no. said it a long time ago.
dont want my games remade by anyone else than me period.
minecraft is different though, evenif you remake a submachine in it, it's still... well... minecraft. :D

Ok Fair Use experts, try to figure out how to get around this ;p
