Ooo philosophy. I had an equally useless degree when I went to collage: art! If I went back I would probably get a degree in philosophy for I love it so. I say useless because I tried to get a job teaching art and have tried to make art for a living, and have failed at both. Now I work and a stainless steel fabrication ship as a grinder. XP BUT, I get to listen to all the philosophy podcasts/books I can find while I work, so I am still able to study philosophy. XD

I'm under the impression that a teacher in Finland is required to have a master's degree in philosophy; however, such a degree follows from studies in pedagogy rather than actual philosophy.

I think every teacher should have at least a master's degree in the thing they're teaching. Their job is to help other people understand a subject so they're kinda obligated to be really knowledgeable about that subject.
