She had to of used a more primitive method of getting to Layer 5, and perhaps those beamers we see, are how she reached Layer 5. The beamers do open layers and other locations. She could have activated those during her transit.
Why would she need a more primitive method of getting to layer five, there's a perfectly could navigator and set of beamers lying around.

Why didn't she take the navigtor in the first place? If it was just sitting there, why wouldn't she take it and use it to get to layer five?

A) She put it there for us. In which case, how did she get back to layer five after leaving it?

B) It was already there, and she didn't need it. Seems plausible, if she already had one of her own, there would be no need to lug another one around.

C) Mur put it there after Liz left. Could have been Mur, he was chasing Liz right? Why would he want us the have the navigator though, and similarly, how did he get back to layer five after leaving it?

D) A third party placed it there. Seems unlikely, there's no mention of everyone else anywhere in the game.

E) Other option.

EDIT:
I always had the impression that they were receivers of some sort.

That's what I was thinking. Like the fountain, the beams seem to be more wavy on these two devices. Maybe the beam becomes less stable over time.

I thought she used another one.
primitive method of getting to layer five
What if those beams were for the escape pod (so she could get to sector 9)?

The beamers found in layers 3, 4, 5 and 7 seem to be fixed to they structures. But the ones in layers 2 and 6 seem to be portable. Layer 1 is maybe semi-portable.

What about if each sector of the plan is a Knot within a Loop?
What about if Original Submachine is Loop, and Loop is black hole that conects the 7 Layers making Knots within its "event horizon"?

I started to think about that. I know the black hole thingy was metaphor, but there must be a conection to make such matephor. Acording to my Loop theory, each sector is conected to a certain level of the Loop, this level of the Loop creates the knot of the Sector conected to it (i.e: Conects Layers).

Funny, I have millions of MS paint diagrams that show the subnet as a black hole. What if the loop is within the singularity? Infinite ammount of submachines compressed into a single place.

WARNING: THE CONTENT SHOWN BELOW IS STRONGELY SCIENTIFICAL, IN CASE YOU DON'T SUPPORT IT DISCRETION IS RECOMENDED
I clearly remember the day it all ended. It was not long after the computer processing power exceeded that of the human brain. Many thought that this was the turning point, but not so. The moment came a bit later. I remember, because I was there, when we asked the biggest question. The one we've been struggling with for millennia.

Why are we?

But this time the question wasn't directed at us. We asked the computer. And that was the turning point in the history of humanity. That exact moment. Once we acknowledged that we're not the most evolved structure on our planet, once we passed the torch, our purpose diminished. Did we expect the computer to fry under the heaviest of questions? Of course. So you can imagine our surprise, when this happened.

The computer answered the question.
My point of view:

Do you know what did the machine said? Me neither. Submachine Universe is not actually our Universe, but then:

Why are we?

The asnwer is always that there's no answer.

Why there is no answer?

Its kinda simple and complex at the same time: There can't be an answer, because if there is an answer, the porpuse of the humanity would damnish. Humanity haves the ability of think and use the gattered knowledge to create tools for survival, in other words, humanity has 2 great capabilities: Science and Technology. If there is an answer for each question, or a "God" that all knows, there would be limits in what an actual human knows and all the scientifical and technological progress would find a dead end, in other words, humanity will find a dead end.
I there's something we have to know is that the simple reason why are we is that its is just prove that the reality we is live is unlimited. So if we humans can't reach to know everything was the matter then? Well, we didn't evolved to know everything, we evolved to know more and more! Any info is important for our survival, and since the Reality is unlimited, just imagine how far we can reach.

Why are we?

Never know, we are just another innovation of the evolution, made to keep acknowlodging over and over, changing constantly as new info gets discovered to reach better technologies for our survival, just like any other lifeform does. Important is how far we can reach, thats its the matter, because there are no limits! :P

Your first argument is flawed because it is contradictory. "Why are we?" is equivalent to "What is the purpose of humanity?" What you've written here is an antithesis :P :
ENIHCAMBUS wrote:There can't be an answer, because if there is an answer, the porpuse of the humanity would diminish.
By using that you also assume that you know the answer and use that assumption to support your argument. This is a much better argument:

ENIHCAMBUS wrote:humanity has 2 great capabilities: Science and Technology
I believe that science and technology would not exist without the consciousness of one's own existence, curiosity, and creativity.
ENIHCAMBUS wrote:Important is how far we can reach, thats its the matter, because there are no limits! :P
There is a limit, although undefined. As you said, reality is unlimited, but we cannot possibly reach such a level. The capabilities of reality are infinite, while our capabilities can have a some value assigned to them. We cannot possibly compete with infinity. You can go far, but there will be day when you cannot go further. Just as reality has the capability of creating a universe, it has the capability of completely obliterating it.

I don't know specifically, but I know it gave an answer.
