Not quite horror, but do try Antumbra. Despite some seemingly random puzzles and iffy grammar at some points, the concept is wonderful and the craziness is a given. A sequel is in the making already!
And when you reach the crossroads and the game tells you there's something on plain sight, wait until something happens, then wait a bit longer until something else happens. XD
