The Tempest

It was largely inconvenient for the propellers of the Alivour to malfunction at such a time. A raging tempest seemed to be ever-present – one powerful enough to destroy whole settlements. I would know; we had spotted several ruins of grouped edifices that had been treated unforgivably by the elements. I wish not to wonder the whereabouts of their inhabitants who must have been strewn around in the most unimaginable manner.

The Alivour is a noble vessel, a marvel of engineering and the best ship known to man, though few ever heard of it. The hull that was reinforced countless times and only dents during impacts that would otherwise completely obliterate another ship. We know, however, that we should not take our chances and become careless – as so had happened to many other noble vessels previously. The vessel has so far fared quite well against the fierce hurricane. We were lucky to be instructed by the captain to move into the interior of the ship before the conditions became unbearable. It was a tempest we could have surely not foreseen and we would have surely drowned if we hadn’t been instructed to do so.

The engineers, however, do need to fix the propulsion systems quickly as the Alivour, although a noble vessel, might not be able to successfully endure the 20 meter waves that have been constantly bombarding her. I fear that the Alivour may not succeed in its endeavor, and that her precious cargo may become damaged or destroyed. Reality seems quite bleak at the moment, but as soon as the propulsion systems are fixed the chances will surely look more hopeful. It has already been five minutes since they had malfunctioned and stopped working, but I ought to stop worrying – the Alivour, after all, is the most formidable vessel ever built! So why am I worried? That question lingered in my head for a moment, but was soon able to pinpoint the answer – it was the ferocious tempest! It must have surely sunk all other ships that encountered it. It has the potential to destroy whole settlements – the Alivour is surely a formidable vessel, but this tempest proves itself to be equally formidable!

8 minutes…
My fears are beginning to envelop me. I hope that the ship doesn’t go under and that it’s vital cargo down with it! Not only that, but, I have noticed, that the more time passes the fiercer the storm becomes. We will certainly drown if the engineers fail to fix the propulsion systems!

Something creaked, and suddenly a whir comes from the aft.

What was that? Was it the propellers that must have returned to life? It must be! Let us rejoice, for we may stand a chance against the storm!
Onwards we go, uncertain, but ever-weary, in the full knowledge of our possible faith.
I wrote this a while ago and I don't know how many times I edited it, but I'm still not satisfied with it...

A specific reason, or one of those feelings that we all get? Because I get that quite often.
(Nice phrasing. I liked it)

Oh-I was playing Castanea, and guess who I found:

Specific reason; there's a bit too much repetition and some parts/sentences of it are a bit awkward/clumsy.
