And while were on the subject of the "8th layer light," I'm seriously doubting that the white beams at the end of the game are this light. The path it takes doesn't seem to match up with our own path. Notice how the beams follow the contours of Shiva's foot. Also it seems to originate from the circle with the pattern, which we didn't interact with at all.

I think it must be an important place... why would they build a lighthouse if there were no sea nearby? we saw an image on a computer screen, but that doesn't mean it isn't a real place too.
