What about the Knights of the Crusade? They invaded the Holy land for answer, and their excuse was "In the name of God" when Murder is only in the name of Murder.

What answer do you think they were looking for? The crusaders fought for fun, money and prestige, didn't they?

The crusades weren't really fought for God or for "the answer". They were done for money. God was used as an excuse for war (well, it wasn't technically a war, but yeah) just like any other excuse.

I think the crusades were also done just to give the soldiers something to do. I mean, killing was pretty much the only thing the soldiers could do, they had no day-jobs. So, when there were no wars to be fought, the bored soldiers started to terrorise the peasants. Remember, the soldiers were there to defend the royal family and other noble people, not the lowly peasants.

A real good example would be the Dead Space series. The Government took a relic called "The Marker" from it resting place to try to decipher what secrets it held. But when they removed the Marker from it resting place it cause a psychotic release into the population turning them insane to the point where they killed themselves so that their bodies are left for the Virus to take it.

Even after that Government KNEW that when they removed the marker from its resting place is what cause the epidemic and when they KNEW that if they put it back it would stop the virus from spreading. But they still try to keep the Marker for themselves to decipher what the marking on it mean. They killed people who were not infected just because they were in their way.

In short, they Killed for looking for the answer the Marker was hiding. after watching a lot of game plays of the Dead Space series I'm pretty sure there might not be any secrets on the Marker.

And Dead Space is even worse of an example of things in real life than Submachine.

I don't see what answer the crusaders pretended to be looking for, but it certainly was quite superfluous to the whole shebang that is know as the Crusades. Crusades were mostly politically motivated, like all of the three in Finland, for instance. They wouldn't ever have happened, had the political atmosphere not been conducive for the kings, dukes and emperors to help the church.

On a more general level, yes, people do stupid shit for stupendously shitty reasons. I'm sure Dead Space has a big deal of that. That fact, however, has nothing to do with the Crusades or their motives: you can't just randomly change the subject and pretend it makes sense.

Specializing;eg.he says the Answer because he means THE answer in the context,not just any old answer for,say,your history homework.

Some history surrounding the crusades:
The crusades were, at their core, an attempt to capture Jerusalem, which is regarded as the Holy City due to its importance in Christianity. To the Christians at that time, the fact that the city was ruled by Jews did not seem right (why should the Jews rule the Holy City when they reject the very fundamentals of Christian beliefs?). They were NOT looking for an answer (I have no idea where this came from, I have never heard any mentions of an answer)

I don't know much about money part (to avoid miscommunication: I mean know as in KNOW and not AGREE). For fun and prestige: I believe so, "in the name of God" was pretty much a pretext/excuse. Yet, they were still fighting, as stated previously, to capture the Holy City. Yet they had overlooked one of the Ten Commandments: "Thou shall not kill." The plan was never well thought out in the terms of something people call "ethics."

You know,thay commandment doesn't work in times of war;just look at Moses's attempts to take the promised land himself.
Anyway,World really shouldn't change subject with weak anologies.
