But what if the chronological naming of the game (Sub 1, 2, 3, 4...) is more than just something to help players? What there really is a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Submachine? It's unlikely, but I can't find any other explanation.
That's a very interesting thought. Maybe, the weird timeline in the games doesn't even allow something like a "linear playthrough" through the series.

Wow, I found my writings and sketches during my first playing of Edge. :D
(for Sub32 as well)

Can you help with these, please:

sys rev init

sys rev terminate

pod dev init

a possible translation is system revision initiate, system revision terminate, pod development initiate. But I have no idea.

EDIT: I looked it in Google and "dev init" is an initialization routine for drivers.

thanks again, Vortex.

hmm...
why did "pod dev init" message appeared after system was terminated?

if Google is right, probably because that's the routine needed to take control of pod.

wait wait

Pod was ejected ("eject" message appears two second later)

And: if we shotted down the system... How these messages still can appear?

-------------
also, I still don't understand "do not mess with the protocols. If you do, they will lock you up inside. I've seen that happening before."
who are "they"? what is "lock you"? where is "inside"? And it already happened before...

when the main OS is shut down, you can usually still do some basic things.

they: the protocols.

lock inside probably means that if they detect you they trap you inside the Edge.
