But the guy touching it is touching the floor and the floor is touching everything else, which is touching the thing you are teleporting to. So you moved the entire part of the subnet connected to to you x amount of meters?

The energy that teleports the player goes trough him and anything within him and goes back to the transporter withouth passing trough the floor.

But how would it be able to distinguish between the floor, the player and the players items? As well as the cipher plates.

Floor is not karmic-conductive.

So the root uses karmic energy for transportation?
What would be your evidence because I hadn't thought of that.

And air? Is it not karmik conductive as well? Then it teleports player with his lungs empty? And what if something already is standing, where player is teleported? Or to people are teleported from different locations to the same location at the same time?

How I'm supposed to know those?

Broken Portal message wrote:Portal prototype developed for transportation of maintenance units between different sections of the subnet.

the prototype came into contact with human factor and was reverse-engineered in order to transport humans.

Primary function deleted.

As a main factor in the infestation spread the portal was considered a failure.
It could be possible that humans reverse-engineered any type of portal they could find to transport themselves instead of maintenance bots. If the bots resembled humans, it may not have been that hard for portals to be modified enough so that they teleported humans and their items, but nothing else. (The Portal systems already had stats, shapes, and functions of Sub-Bots recognized, these could've just been modified/reprogrammed to fit humans)

Root transporters where builded by humans, for humans, subbots didn't existed back then.

Oh, right. Well one step shorter in the process then. The humans wouldn't have to reconfigure from SubBots, they would just tell the Root system parameters to make sure everyone transports successfully.

Whoa wait

Something about memory loss in another thread...

What if every time someone uses a Root transporter or another type of portal, that contributes to their memory loss? With all those researchers making jumps between locations, it would explain why their memories deteriorate so quickly. Think about it.
