I don't understand: what section? Who created this creation? What history/books? Who/what are "those"? who were we talking to at the end of Sub6?
And WHO THE HELL THIS TWO GUYS?
Well, the only people we know are Mur and Liz, who are dead, so it probably isn't them. Could be the survivors of the fourth dynasty and the western kingdom, who were in the fifth layer I believe. How many of those there was, or is left at the time of the player, is hard to tell.

What about the remmenents of the lab exploration teams? There must be some survivors, surely?

Finally, the tribe in the bamboo village, who worshipped Liz. Who are they?

Guys, pretty please, explain me this part about DefSystems. pleaseeeeee
:')
Well, at the start of the lab and the end of the edge, we talk to someone or something via computer, posing as Murtaugh, who is now implied to already be dead at the time of the conversation. We were wondering who it was then, an imposter, a prerecorded message, or perhaps a computer program?

Is that what you meant?

No, I mean about message from Sub9 secret location:
- How is it possible, that people are still coming through the loop and trying to turn off the defense systems? After all these years...

- What would you have me do. Destroy his creation? Destroy the whole section?

- I don't know... Maybe...

- You're talking about destroying our history. What next, book burning?

- No, of course not. But maybe... A sign? That it's no longer necessary to shut down the defenses?

- And what about those in the eighth layer?

- I stand corrected...

Maybe these people are others who have been through the loop and turned off the DefSys. They do call it their history, as opposed to just history.

It could be. If the corrupted outer rim's AI grew sentient, it may very well want to use us for its purposes.
Waaaait...

I interpreted it somewhat like this: two knowledgeable and powerful guys talking about the past of their people, which goes like this:

* Murtaugh creates machines that will send people to the edge ad infinitum.
* Murtaugh repents.
* Murtaugh and Elizabeth become leaders and after their death they become cult figures.
* Murtaugh's past project becomes a sort of a memorial, frozen in time, as it were.
* The technology and understanding of the plan increase much further, (I mean, it was huge when Murtaugh was around already, we know what they did to the lighthouse), probably much due to Murtaugh's influence, so that the edge is accessible and easy to control.
* Two guys who follow the Shiva cult surrounding Murtaugh, who are in a high enough position to decide things like destroying sections contemplate on the negative implications of this memorial.

I think sub 10 is going to be the longest game in the series considering there are still a lot of unanswered questions. We don't even know what the submachine truly is and there's only one game left.

I'm assuming we'll come across Shiva, the supposed subgod in the next game?
