So its Correct.I had Latin more than twenty years ago, so I may be mistaken, but I think that "key" translates to "clavis." Then, we are talking about a "regular use" key - to open the house, the room, etc.
If we are using "key" in a bigger, metaphorical meaning - key to open one's hear for example, it is "gravis." It seems the translation of the quote is correct.
