the rod isn't strong enough to cut the chains.
you try remembering what's down there, but you haven't been down there before, at least not while sober.
you try remembering your drunk memories of what's down there.
you remember a... small, curved, clear object... and... some sort of needle.
i don't know. you were drunk.
you look at the bare lightbulb, which hurts your eyes, and notice that there's a lot of loose wire hanging off nails in the ceiling. if you could get the wire off the nails, you could pull the bulb, say, 10 meters more before the line goes taut again.

use the rod to pull the wire away. it that doesn't't work smash it off the ceiling.
