I always thought it was more of a style preference, personally

People did respond really well to your Starry Night one though, and the colors were intense there

I think it's just colours are way easier to contrast on a black background.
Plus I don't want to push too hard on my colour pencils in case they break. X(
(Wish they'd make coloured lead for mechanical pencils, my work would be so much easier)

I think I even had some mechanical coloured pencils once, they were cool but lack a broad side you can colour big areas with, of course

Our local stationery shop is lacking in some kinds of pencils...

Okay, I've not been able to post my recent drawings from my sketch book due to...well, I've not been able to resolve the problem with my scanner.

But this cell phone camera despite its pretty shitty focus when being held, I can show you guys a bit of some of the effects one of my old drawings can do.

This is what the effects can do when you hold the Metro Guide up into the Light. It shows the Secrets tunnels of D6 and the Metro 2 line in relations to the Main Public Metro. This is what I was trying to recreate when Artyum found that Guide in Burbon Backpack that he gave to Khan when he ask for it.
