Submachine Wiki
Re: Submachine Wiki
Not anymore
Re: Submachine Wiki
Interesting; Wikia changed some buttons around so that the "Publish" button now reads "Save page", and the "Rename" option has been re-branded to "Move". This must have happened in the last 7.5 hours, since I would have noticed it before then XD
Also @Vortex thanks for going back through and cleaning up the SNEE refs without touching the theory pages. That's perfect

Re: Submachine Wiki
Don't know how to bump, so I'm just going to put this here:
If anyone can offer any evidence that the entirety of Subs 1 through 7 took place in Layer 1, I would love to hear it.

Re: Submachine Wiki
I don't think there's any evidence, and in fact I doubt it's completely true. With the revelations of Sub10 we ought to take sublayers into account.

Re: Submachine Wiki
We've used a variety of ways to transport, from sub1 to sub 7 and so on. We don't know for sure for the ones between sub1 and sub7 but I believe that at least once we changed layers as well.
I hit rock bottom
Re: Submachine Wiki
I agree. Besides Sub5-Sub6, I think we could have changed layer in every game transition.
Re: Submachine Wiki
Good to hear. I keep seeing statements that the first 7 Subs took place in layer 1, written all over the place (hell, I was probably the one to bring up the idea in the first place, lol I can't remember) so I thought I would double-check.
What Sub10 has taught us, however, is that the desert is in layer 1, since that's where Einstein is. That means that, coupled with the phrase "The Subnet is now living in five dimensions", we now know that there's only one other dimension that the Subnet doesn't really exist in.
Meaning...does the entirety of Sub10 take place in the Core, or maybe on the border between the Core and the Outer Rim...? Hm...
One thing's for certain though: all this Project Karma stuff, while mentally exhausting, has really cleared up some things about Submachine for me. It all sits a lot better in my mind, and as a result I've actually found a lot of page restructuring to do in the midst of general page editing.
I've also created a list of big page additions that I think need to be added once I finish with the Z pages:
Interlayer device - including:
-(Navigator)
-(Beamer)
-Layer door
-Ring post
-Fuse machine
-Fork box
S.H.I.V.A. (talking strictly about the supercomputer)
Security camera
Knot
Karma (talking strictly about it as energy)
Sector 9 (to give an "area" to the location explored in Sub8)
The Plan (THIS is what the Submachine was about. To create a multi-layer space. Will be explained in detail here, there's already a lot of information about it on the [[Layer]] page. I still think it's amazing how, after all this time, we still don't know the primary motives for why the Plan, anti-structures, etc. were built. That's one of the biggest questions of them all.)
Collapse (short article describing the event)
I'm sure I'll think of more big changes that will happen. For example, [[The Root]] has too much info pertaining specifically to [[552]], so [[The Root]] will become an area page and [[552]] will become a location page.
If I make it out alive, I expect popcorn.
----
Also, idk if you guys know, but do you know how we have a [[small island]] page on the Wiki? With the cute little island? Well, Sub10 has brought us an even CUTER island which I have officially dubbed the [[little island]]. It's got its own page and everything. Take good care of it, it's fragile :3

Re: Submachine Wiki
That happened to me when I started editing the wiki and translating it to Spanish, especially the forum posts. I suddenly got a lot more informed about Submachine
You've been doing a good job so far, I'm happy to see the wiki so organized

Re: Submachine Wiki
I really like that things seem to get clearer. You really have made a great job Jatsko and good luck for what's next. For the wiki too.
I hit rock bottom
Re: Submachine Wiki
It's done.
I have escaped almost a year's grasp of self-inflicted responsibility. I can rest easy tonight.
Ever single page, image, and template on the Wiki has been updated to the standards I feel are appropriate for September of 2016. The subnet is no longer stuck in the dark recesses of the middle years of 2010-12. Everything feels so...new.
Are there still things to do on the Wiki? Yes, if I looked hard enough, I would find something to do. But for now...I can enjoy this freedom.
Now I don't have to think about Submachine as a responsibility as much as I can think of it as a creative outlet. Time for more YouTube-centered stuff. Time for more livestreams. Time for more fanfic writing. The timing could not be better.
It's an odd feeling, feeling so exhausted and relieved about completing something that in the grand scheme of things is actually really trivial. But hey, if the Wikia can help someone else out with a tough puzzle and give them a nudge in the right direction, or help clear up a muddy concept they've come across in the subnet, then I think it meant something in the long run.
Now, to rest...just finished updating the editing guidelines. It was the last thing I did.
