I think the 8 button in the navigator sends us to nothing. But the question is: Did subnet reached and expanded over that nothing?

Or did it never exist? The SubNet can't expand over something that doesn't exist. The "eighth button" was possibly taken out from a remote:
And thus used as inspiration, with Mateusz keeping the eighth hole without a button to drive us insane.

They're probably stationary screws - If you look at the Navigator and then that remote, you'll see that there are two (what I believe to be) screws above the first two buttons and below the bottom two (if you consider the eighth hole a button.)
Still considered inspiration, even if he didn't copy it exactly.

What if the navigator wasn't SUPPOSED to be a Navigator, and in its original purpose it needed 8 buttons.
Then someone used parts of it (and other stuff) to cobble together the Navigator as we know it.
