An interesting thing to note about Shiva

He is one of the five primary forms of God in the Smarta Tradition, and "the Destroyer" or "the Transformer

Murtaugh from the beginning of the series was regarded as a destroyer, an anomaly, someone who manipulated people and sent people to their deaths to achieve the goal of returning to the core. But during Sub8 and Sub9 he goes from this malevolent being, to a benevolent being. He dedicated the rest of his life to restoring the chaos, thus transforming the subnet as we know it.

Now Thoth who we learned about back in Sub6?

Thoth was the god of writing and knowledge. Thoth's roles in Egyptian mythology were many. He served as a mediating power, especially between good and evil, making sure neither had a decisive victory over the other

Elizabeth had plenty of knowledge, she's a solver according to the note in Sub6. She not only solves riddles of the subnet, but she also was able to resolve conflict with Murtaugh and others and force him to see the destruction he had caused with his karma arm. That's a mediating type person, resolving conflict between two opposing sides.

What I find interesting is how we find Thoth and then learn about Elizabeth and are told to find her. Yet in Sub9, its mostly dedicated to Murtaugh and we learn about Shiva.

At the end of Sub9 its clear that both have achieved deity status. Now I do wonder...

I was reading this theory by Rooster5man where he mentioned reincarnation

The theme of Reincarnation isn't too far off from the Submachine Series - Buddhism and Hinduism are present within the Series. That's why it could be possible.

Now is it possible that Shiva and Thoth have a thing going on between them and they made two ordinary people their reincarnated entity thingamigs?

Or what if Murtaugh and Elizabeth are their children? Much like how Jesus Christ is the son of Virgin Mary and God in Christian religion.

Nope, not really. We're all hoping Sub10 will shed some light on that question, I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Just a mere 26 hours from now and Submachine 10 will finally be before our very eyes and fingers...

I find it hard to believe... I'll wake up tomorrow, wait 4 or 5 hours and there it will be, ready to be played.

You US people will have it even easier, you won't even have to wait after waking up *envy*
