They're both on the same side, and this is real. And the symbols are there to mess around with you.
Nah just kidding, they're just a simple cipher I invented.

Found some of my old drawings, it was when I as learning about the human anatomy. Particular the distinction between the muscle and the bones. For example, the muscles in the human body always "Pull" the limbs around when you move them, never "push".
So I tried to replicate that with these robot chest, arm, and leg. To which I was have a main bone, or Rode. And the rest are the muscle that are hydraulic cylinders. But these were the first drawings, the rest are unfortunately lost.
