You're obviously not gonna tell us which page of this thread the post in question is on, so I'm gonna have to go with "Get bedsheets, make rope, rappel down the window to the balcony below."
This way the bedsheets become some sort of permanent way up to the upper floors again, while Ian investigates the lower area of the house.
Once we find a possible way to kill the monster, we can climb back up the bedsheet rope and kill the monster above, so we can progress through the upper floors again.

We have to run away, so that we can...

Good game.

No.

<I won't disclose any more info, you guys are too smart XD everything will come in its moment, as the story goes on (but if Ian dies there won't be no story to go on, so don't use him as your guinea pig :P )>
Sublevel 102 wrote:(Onyx, BTW, I have just noticed you made small error, I think: drawer should be in center of room, not? (page 6))
<well, it was implicit that Ian put it back after heating the paper. look at page 8 for example, the nightstand is back in its place>
<wait... did you just call me Onyx? ¬_¬>
Sublevel 102 wrote:Ian: Barricade the door with drawer first! (and maybe with heavy planks)
As quickly as he can, Ian moves the planks and the nightstand to barricade the door. He hopes it will work, or at least give him some time.

Boingo wrote:After Ian gets the barricade sorted, get him to tie the bed sheets together and create a makeshift rope, which can be used to get down to the balcony below-get to ready to use at any time.
Get bedsheets, make rope, rappel down the window to the balcony below
Ian gets the sheets from the bed.

He ties them together to make a rope. But there's no place to tie the end to!

Time is running out! He has to think fast!!

Tie it to the bed foot.
We also need keep hold of that bar if it comes to going down to the balcony below, in case it's locked...

Ian: does your uncle live in an apartment again!

(I'm lazy and forgetful and really tired. Sorry.)

1) Are it hooks above window?.. Can we tie the rope with it?
2) Hide inside wardrobe if things go very bad. BUT! before it: open the window, tie rope somehow, no matter how accurately, and drop one side down from window. Monster would think you climbed down and would follow down as well!

1) Yes, ignore bender's command.
2) Open wardrobe just a creak so he thinks you're hiding in it. Then rappel down, hooking the rope to the hooks above the window.

The monster's smart as hell, from the looks of it, like the Alien from Alien.
I don't think it can climb walls though. It's probably too heavy to hang on even with those raz0r claws of his, and his "shadow smoke" physical property. Too heavy to "float" and crawl on walls, I'd say.

What we need is a vacuum cleaner, to suck up any savage ministers.
Yikes, dang autocorrect, I mean MONSTERS not ministers.
Although they are quite similar.

EDIT: I was thinking along the lines of Alien too :)

I'm never here to make a command, because all the porpusefull commands are always already made. I'm always late for everything.

No means NO.
Boingo wrote:Tie it to the bed foot.
Ian would, but there is a problem...

Image

This bed has no feet! Even if he ties the rope to the bed somehow, there won't be enough rope left to escape!
Boingo wrote:Ian: does your uncle live in an apartment again!
<yes, I thought that was clear by now. sorry if I have been unclear>
Sublevel 102 wrote:Are it hooks above window?.. Can we tie the rope with it?
Ian examines the things above the window...

Image

They are hooks indeed! It looks like they were holding some curtains bar before. But Ian can't tie the rope to those hooks, because they are too small and pointy and the rope will tear while he is escaping.

Although... he wonders if he can combine them with something else...
Sublevel 102 wrote:Hide inside wardrobe if things go very bad. BUT! before it: open the window, tie rope somehow, no matter how accurately, and drop one side down from window. Monster would think you climbed down and would follow down as well!
It wouldn't work because 1) the wardrobe is full of clothes and he would have to throw some out to be able to hide on time. The monster doesn't look stupid and he would surely notice if there is a bunch of clothes on the floor next to the wardrobe. And 2) still Ian needs some way to tie the end of the rope.
ShadowNiL wrote:Open wardrobe just a creak so he thinks you're hiding in it. Then rappel down
Same trick in reverse... Ian thinks the idea is interesting at least. But he still needs to tie the rope somewhere. And time is running out...

Ian hopes this is true... It's his only chance of escaping after all...

Tie the BEDSHEET ROPE to the KEYCHAIN OF KEYS & WALLET. Hang the KEYCHAIN over the hook for Ian to guarantee himself that the rope wouldn't get shred by hook while escaping from creepy scary monster.
