Unless they're in service of both gameplay and story, NO.
I would rather leave them as both intro and outro.
EDIT: the best example of cutscenes in-game that Mateusz already did is... Covert Front series
it wouldn't works well in Submachine because it is a different beast altogether.

I still would like to know how us, the Player, are part of Submachine series to begin with even???

There are two possibilities: either the player is a generic player, meant to represent us, or he/she is someone important who plays a part on how the story developed. In all the games we have seen few signs of the second possibility, but it's what I would prefer.

what IS Submachine. That's question that should be answered in last game of series.
different Submachine elements, its nature and locations such as farm and popcorn factory - that's for spin-offs
