I currently owns and maintain my online portfolio with my own domain name through a hosting service.

that's the way to do it.

phpBB installation must be free, if not - you can install manually in a folder of your choosing.
I assume you have FTP access. That allows the transfer of all database from here to new forum.
Moreover - I can give you my forum theme so it looks exactly like this one.

It took a bit of reading and browsing in my hosting service to see what I have and what I could do... All right, let see what we have here:

- I have FTP access through FileZilla as FTP Client for transferring files and accessing my site.
- I also have phpMyAdmin to back up files.
- I will probably need to do some coding for a forum this big.
- I would then install the new and free phpBB forum using the backup files.

The problem is that I am not having a pleasant time trying to gain access to my own site through FTP access as I am very inexperienced with this sort of thing. I will try again more tomorrow and maybe call my hosting service for help.

Anyone got tips?

Tips, Play around with it. I was able to master Micorsoft Word shape program by doing just that.

Edit: Also, we need to leave a single post in this forum after it closes for some time. Cause..what if some of the people who does not visit so often decides to come visit this forum. How will they know we moved? They would have bookmark the index page. So...there should be a message with a url link.

One last thing, where is the new forum located? Can we have a thread or a page with that link as the first post?

How do you create a new thread in the board index of the new forum?

I got my account, I wish to speed up the process and at least have the foundation already set up. So that way I can start moving my threads to their appropriate place.

And can I please help out by being one of the global moderators?
I wish to be the one to receive post reported, and complaints against other forunners for inappropriate contents. Since I, myself was a victim of such a case.

Also, we need to keep gemin out of the new Forum.
I was able to get a account lickity split.

But...I doubt he want to show his face back in this community after the stunt he pulled, that we all know he did since I spilled the beans on his action.
