One thing I've always noticed about these teleporters that Mat has drawn is that the arms are never 180 degrees across from each other. They're always clearly located stemming from the front half of the base. So when you go to draw it in 3D it looks like the picture found in 011:

Which makes the arms look a little squished if you were to treat them as fully circular arcs. So I always make it a point to try to move the base joints directly to either side.
I don't want to be a dick to Mat and tell him that he's drawn all his teleporters 'wrong', I just like this little change better
