Command: try to use the cube with a speaker!
It's just a cube with a speaker and a button on it.
You press on the button, only to find it's jammed.
The only other speaker-like things in your inventory are the circular devices.

You put on the circular devices. When you're done:
Queer creature: Translators? Your kind never does take the time to really master a language. Anyway, seeing as you came out of that ship, I trust you want to find your other mechanical friends.Well here's a deal: I'll help you, if you help me.Agreed?

Command: say "well... what do you want from me?"
You: Well... what do you want from me?
Queer creature: You see, your friends gave me a reward in advance for finding survivors of that ship. But very cunningly, they gave me something that can only be unlocked by your kind. So I need you to unlock it. In return, I will show you the way to your friends.
You have my word. Deal?

Queer creature:Oh yes, and since you're too tall to sit in the truck, you have to sit a the back.
And so you take one last look at the ship you came from...

You stop at a small shack.

Queer creature: Sorry we aren't there yet, but I need to refuel.
Anyways, if you have anything you need to fix, I can help with that. I used to be a mechanic at the old air base.
You think back to your jammed speaker-cube...

You: Er, Mr-, Miss-,well what-
Queer creature: I'm male, if you must know. And you can call me Snarr.
You: Ok. Anyway, can you help me fix this cube?
Snarr: Sure. Why don't you come in while I try? We Ice People try to offer our best hospitality, you know.
