Dream last night. Something about 'drinking coffee in public' becoming socially unacceptable. I remember seeing the Starbucks in my local mall all boarded up. Very strange.

I don't know, when I first started lurking after Sublevel joined, I though he was a she.

My late dreams were varied, some had feelings of nostalgia, like those with SNEE updates, man, I remember back then between 2012 and 2014, those were a common type of dream, I think I had about 32 of them.

Ugh, I've been having terrible dreams lately.

Well, maybe terrible isn't the right word. Vivid, yes. Disturbing, yes.

You know how there's that "romance" concept floating around that if you're attracted to someone it's considered a staple of romance that "I dream of you every night" and stuff like that? Usually I don't buy into that stuff, and I never experience it anyway, so I don't care.

Well now it's different, because in my first year of college I've already managed to have a girl in mind. I've been crushing on her hard for about a good semester, and she's been great. She hasn't returned the feelings, though, and we talked about why she hasn't (basically, she doesn't feel like she can date people at this point in her life, for a variety of personal reasons). It's also really bad timing, because she's a junior that's studying abroad next semester and then thinking of transferring to a different school before she graduates. But I've accepted all of that and don't have a problem with it. (That was a big moment for me, realizing that I was ok with it, and also realized that I'm not fit for a big relationship at this point anyway.)

So why am I posting in the dreams thread?

The problem is, I just got home from college three days ago, and each night I've had these vivid dreams concerning her. And they're scary as hell. I used to think that when people talked about dreaming about their special someone every night that that sounded cute and comforting, if a bit over-the-top. And I suppose if the dreams were "nice" and positive, then that would indeed be the case. Come to think of it, the first girl I used to date I had a couple of very positive dreams about :D

But these are really vivid, and they're scary. Vivid enough that they seem real to the point that I don't question their reality, until I wake up. And scary mostly because they involve some of the personal issues she has, and my dream self reacts badly to them and it causes a lot of problems. They're graphic. And even after waking up, for about 20 minutes I'll still feel like the dream environment is somehow "around" me or in some way still affecting me. Have any of you ever had that feeling before?

I'm not really bringing this up to describe the dreams themselves, which usually happens here, but more just my thoughts about them. I'll have more to say about this in the near future, but for now I have to get my head sorted out.

tl;dr, I guess: The lesson I learned -dreaming about a loved one can be great and romantic, but NOT if the dreams are monstrosities of horror.

----

I've always been fascinated by dreams. Especially when this type of thing happens to me directly and I get to feel it for myself. Makes me want to drop everything I'm studying in college now and find some sort of Neurology/Dream Studies program somewhere...

----

How to best vent about this in the near future? Methinks I might try to work them into one of my Sub fanfics, and how a nightmare can work itself into a day...yes, that's what I'll do.. you will all see, very soon...

gocha

One more interesting thing: when I have lucid dreams, there's 90% I would wake up.
During that hour I was thinking about it, but... I didn't. One more weird thing.

aaand

also, my damn alarm clock ALWAYS turns on and wakes me up. Not this time. I woke up by myself two minutes before it started to ring.
