But note that this is just what I think makes the most sense given the notes, it could still be wrong. Ehnic suggested the flawed copies mentioned in Sub8 could be the sub-layers.Imagine a line (or a circle!) with 7 marked points. Those 7 points are the layers, and every point in the segments between each main layer is a sub-layer. That way the layer dimension is a proper, continuous dimension or axis. This is supported by the five dimensions note (3 spatial + 1 temporal + 1 layer axis), and by "how many numbers between 0 and 1" note; if you imagine the real number line, or rather a segment of it from 1 to 7, the integers would be the layers.

Copypaste of how I think of it:
Re: Submachine 10 and beyond Theories and Suggestions
And the Sublayers are what, different realities?
Re: Submachine 10 and beyond Theories and Suggestions
Yes. We know they can have people in them, so presumably different objects and locations too.
Re: Submachine 10 and beyond Theories and Suggestions
That could tie in with the Sub4 note about never seeing anyone else in the Submachine, too.

Re: Submachine 10 and beyond Theories and Suggestions
The weirdest aspect of it all is that apparently matter and buildings can exist across SEVERAL sub-layers, but humans only on one, because we are special... or something.

Re: Submachine 10 and beyond Theories and Suggestions
Well, according to Sub10 they have to be special building materials (like brass, as we see in Sub9), and they have to be mixed with karmic water. I don't find that weird that only certain materials can be persistent between layers, just like only certain materials can conduct electricity (to put an example).
It's not like humans are unaffected by anything karma, either. Murtaugh's karma arm is the best example

Accourding to notes, anything thats organic can only exist in a single Sublayer.

Yes, that's what I'm saying I don't find weird

So why do we see bones in our sub layer?
If we changed the sub layer we're in, will we lose our skeletons?

Through every problem, raw persistence will prevail.

These skulls are maybe from deseased exploration team members.
Do we know why people from exploration teams suffered amnesia?
