Re: Pastel Land History
If you start to make Pastel twitters and facebooks, they will FLOP.
Because we are not a pop star diva fandom, we are a very endogamic community and our habitat is this forum. Forum that lemme say it's unfluid, I prefer chats, but in this case a chat would prevent the art sharing and people would miss most things when not online. Facebook groups are useful too, but not for long conversation threads.
And yeah, I finally got to the point that it's not my fault if I stopped participating here, it's just life cycles, adulthood and responsibilities. That's why I think forums are meant to be used by kids and teenagers. When you start the adulthood, Facebook groups and chats are more useful than forum posts.

wait I thought we make this only for one purpose...
since this forum is not Mateusz's, there's no entry points where new users can find a way to there
there must be places where they find us

yeah steam ruined it allMarbles wrote:I'm not sure sustaining the community as it has been will be possible, depending on what Mateusz decides to do after Submachine 10. As Gem said, people get busy and leave, and the online gaming community as a whole has been shrinking for a while.
I wish it were otherwise, but I don't see any point in planning for the future. Either things will continue, or they won't.
Oh yeah Sublevel, that's true. I thought the forum was already linked on Wiki and Official sites.

How can this Forum-frequent user not be featured? His name is literally Submachine backwards.
Enihc is a 4th-Generation member of Pastel Forum and yet his activity has made him immediately fit in with the community. He has a couple theories of what’s really going on with Submachine, and he frequently partakes in discussions of the unknown. But maybe his crowning achievement is his role as a “scanner” for any glitches, bugs, and overall errors found in Submachine games. He is a perfectionist but only for the sake of making Submachine the best it can be. He also is very tidy at keeping the Subnet changelog up to date!
Thank you ENIHCAMBUS for your long-lasting influence on Pastel Forum!
Check out his Pastel profile here, and be sure to register with Pastel Forum if you haven’t already!

LOL, just like old times...
I really thanks Jatsko for mentioning and linking to the Subnet Changelog, I think is my most important contribution in Submachine matters.

Did I do it right?
I'm just jumping in on this discussion of social media outside Submachine...
I'm thinking of cutting the Pastel Twitter just for the reason that I don't see many people ever using it. But I want to keep Pastel Tumblr around because that will definitely be more active.

Rulo, I completely understand what you're saying here. However Tumblr is starting to show another side to Pastel activity, one that's more oriented toward the art/aesthetic of Pastel Games (usually just DMT and Submachine) but I feel it would be nice to keep encouraging growth of that in a concentrated Tumblr profile.Rulo wrote:If you start to make Pastel twitters and facebooks, they will FLOP.

Re: Pastel Land History
Activity here really depends on what direction Mateusz goes after Sub10 as Marbles said. Mateusz was talking about taking his games to Steam. The problem is, there are forums on steam where you can talk about said game. That's the problem, five years ago we were booming because we were the only source of Submachine conversation. Sure, there were other sporadic smaller communities out there but we were the epicenter, the apex. But now with Mateusz steering things in other directions, like Facebook, Twitter, and possibly Steam, people have more selections on where they choose to discuss.
A while back I spoke about making a facebook, and I agree with Rulo. We had a twitter running for a bit and Error deleted it, because it flopped. A facebook will flop too or it will cause newcomers to converse there, instead of here. Giving people alternate places to discuss content defeats the purpose of bringing and retaining activity here.
I think it would still be worthwhile to reach out to Mateusz and ask him to replace the forum link on his site. Make it clear its not a forum ran by him, just a fan made forum. Has anyone reached out to him about that?

Re: Pastel Land History
I have a steam account, I can use it whatever he moves to there!
The idea of making users from other mediums to go here was kind of floppy in terms:
KefKonic was invited by Error, but he never posted anything after and began use Error himself to communicate for him about forum...
They are other users that came from Tumblr, but never posted even if they came periodicaly, maybe they just look here for more accurate news, since we are the only ones who dig to far in that matters...
