Re: Pastel Land Comic Discussion
Good to see interest, now the only question I have is: Submachine Ambients.
With the advent of the HD versions, we have access to the ambients. But the question is: Public Domain or Personal Use?

I think we should ask Mateusz to be sure.

Personal use.
Once you have the game, files are your and your only. It is illegal to share the files to those who don't have the game.

Right, file sharing, but what about uploading a video with Submachine ambients, where I got them legally, through paying for the HD versions of the game? I'm not sharing in the aspect, allowing access to the files. Sure, one could record the video and then rip the songs off the video somehow, but anyone could do that through the game itself.
Asking Mateusz is the first step of course. I just want to make sure I'm staying within legality.

Progress update:
Its coming along, scene four is being built, its rather short. I hope that doesn't annoy anyone, that there will be shorter scenes in part 2. Because most of the story for Chapter 2 was placed in Part 1. Part 2 just ties up any loose ends. Its about the same length as Part 1.
I actually had a question. Isobel and her twin do fight. As you noticed, I have decided to show characters with bruises and injuries, which is a new thing, and actually if a character sustains a severe enough injury, it can carry over to the next story, but how do we treat women? Do we want to see the women characters with bruises, blood, etc?
I'm not sure how to approach this...
I also found out that there are other props and characters to be added. And I found a bunny and a spider... now why didn't I find this out sooner... I wouldn't have had to edit things from google images... hm.
I can even add a washing machine in. Anyone want to see Sublevel beat the hell out of Skutul with a washing machine?

I think considering they are content purchased from Mateusz so they are definitely not public domain. Further, since Mateusz is not the original maker of the tracks he is probably not allowed to consent to their use fully? I am not sure of the finer details of this however.Gemini wrote:Good to see interest, now the only question I have is: Submachine Ambients.

I fail to see a compelling reason why women should be exempt from this. I mean, we don't have many female characters so you might want to be careful about the ways you take away from a limited pool of story resources (e.g. Isobel gets paralyzed and thus can't really do many important things anymore), but from an equity standpoint this is fairly straight-forward.Gemini wrote:I actually had a question. But you will make her fight her evil twin, Sexual Violence is between individuals of different sexuality, hence the name. Making "Man vs. Man", or "Woman vs. Woman" is actualy fair.

Re: Pastel Land Comic Discussion
My concern was showing extreme violence for women, which might upset people, but I get the feeling nobody would be upset by a woman bleeding, having bruises and having severe injuries. Not talking about paralysis here. Soullock will have a scar on his head where he was hit with that metal object in the first part, that will carry over through the rest of the comic and into the next story.
Just some people might get offended by women being beaten, you know?
