Re: Submachine Wiki
I've seen his talk page and I get the feeling he's not a member here, never has been. I don't like his "its all about me" attitude. And I've seen some nasty comments he has made on other talk pages for other members.
The dude needs to take that mega stick out of his ass, and realize as you said Sublevel, the wiki wouldn't be there if it weren't for this forum, because this forum made the wiki. This community made the wiki. This community made Submachine continuing past 1 possible.
Who promoted him to Admin on the wiki? Vortex? Marbles?

Re: Submachine Wiki
I get his position to a certain extent: certainly the Wiki and the Forum are separate entities and we cannot assume by default that all Wiki editors must also be members of the Forum or vice versa. However, the Wiki cannot dismiss the Forum as a point of cultural context, because the rooms are increasingly drenched with references to it (as is the case with Sublevel's room). It also cannot ignore the Forum when it attempts to contact it in the Wiki talk pages.
I said as much on the Wiki talk pages already, but I thought it bore repeating here.
However, he is not an admin anymore. He is higher up than that, he is a bureaucrat. He was promoted by Marbles, since Mordikai requested this, pretty much immediately after becoming admin. See here.
EDIT: Oh, I did not notice this before. He did ask Marbles about it though: here and here.
EDIT2: Also, according to this, I am currently the only chat moderator on the Wiki. Who made me that and when? I don't remember this being brought up to me.
Anyway, this is a nice feature, meet your staff:

Marbles, with recommendations from Vortex and Enihcambus in early July of 2014, as documented in his talk page. There doesn't seem to have been a discussion about it in here, or at least if there was, no one wrote down his name. Vortex and Eni's talk pages do not have signs of Mordikai asking them for support either.Gemini wrote:Who promoted him to Admin on the wiki? Vortex? Marbles?

Re: Submachine Wiki
I don't see right away that there's much to be administered that Mordikai and Vortex can't handle.
I've never gotten the feeling that Mordikai is one we should watch out for, he's just doing his part of the forum and making sure everything's neat and tidy. (For the most part, I guess) I've never had problems with anything he's done.
Are you suggesting that we at least elect another active member to balance the power? If anything? Maybe there's more to the positions than I know about.

Re: Submachine Wiki
At least we could make more rollback users. We know a dozen forum members who can have that power. It is not really a "staff" position or anything, I just brought it up since there appear to be so damn few of us – basically 0 active members or something.
I am not suggesting Mordikai is out there to get us or anything. He mostly does a great job. It is just that, well, the Wiki is just as dead as the Forum and there is shit to do and we can't expect Mordikai to take care of EVERYTHING. He has already said that the theory voting is not a thing he really cares about that much, so it is not like he is going to prioritize THAT. That is just one example. There are projects to be done all over. We don't need to balance power, we need to redistribute responsibility to more shoulders.

Re: Submachine Wiki
Bingo. I don't have an issue with him being Admin but my issue is his "The forum doesn't count" I would gladly give him a piece of my mind, but I'm not at the same level of power he is. And by that, I don't mean cuss the guy out either, but let him know that the forum does matter and should have a say in things done on the wiki, especially as Ant pointed out, Subnet is starting to have references to this forum. The only way you would know what 10,000 means in Sublevel's room is if you are part of this forum. Are you suggesting that we at least elect another active member to balance the power? If anything? But yes, having someone from the forum who is an active staff member on the wiki would help balance power and give him more reason to ease up on his policies.
I'm not saying he wont listen to the common user, but he would take things more serious from another staff than a common user, if that makes any sense.

Re: Submachine Wiki
Well, Ellie (Error) is actualy interested in the Theory Voting thing, so he could take care of it.

Re: Submachine Wiki
I for one would recommend Error for the position of Admin. He's done quite a lot on the forum and wiki and plus his interest in theories and being a part of the theory process himself would make a good contribution. Plus he is just as active on the wiki as Mord is.
I'm active myself and could placed in the Rollback position. Maybe Eni or Sublevel for Rollback too?

Re: Submachine Wiki
I See The Renaming Process Of Myself Has Begun..
Also, what's a rollback user?
And did I say balance? I kinda meant redistribute. Balance sounds too tyrannical
As far as theory voting, the Sub10 release just so happens to coincide perfectly with the first few months of college for me. That's gonna be sticky for me to handle the theory voting at that time. Could we talk about that later?
Now that I see the ninja-ing post of Gem , I am flattered! But what does an admin do in addition? (I have been getting along fine with what I've been doing) What does an admin bring to the table, just so I know?
I don't think it's an issue of that as much as this: Mordikai helps manage a Wiki. Wikis keep track of information as much as possible. If people want to change a name of a location, then he wants to make sure, more than anything, that a record of those votes would at least go on the wiki, where the information is being changed and displayed. It's not that he doesn't think the forum counts at all, he just wants to see our signatures as proof. That would be my guess more than anything. The forum doesn't count

Re: Submachine Wiki
Yes, elevating the "Theory Project Manager" to an admin status, would be great. I also think he has the responsibility to handle the job. With the status of an admin he can actually organize the voting, without it being taken as the hasty actions of an overactive user who doesn't understand the rules. (Even though that is not the case and an initiative has been taken up to the current staff in this instance.)Gemini wrote:I for one would recommend Error for the position of Admin. Yeah, you, Eni and Sublevel can definitely be rollback users in my opinion. You know not to mess things up.
EDIT:
Here is a short guide to admin abilities. What does an admin bring to the table, just so I know?

I would love an admin position for the theory voting, but as I said, college. I'm not sure at this point. Either way, it's going to be haywire once Sub10 comes out. What else would the admin do?
