Funny. That's not how my mum put it. :?
I'm probably forgetting something.
Oh, Hang on, my mums family moved from china a few generations back.
And as i know, Malaysia doesn't like my mum, because she's Chinese!
Has the Chinese school thing always been in place, because I don't remember my mum telling me that. :?
Where in Malaysia are you then?

@abacus
No, no, kakama's probably right. It's just things change.

SJKC. That sounds vaguely familiar. :|
My mum was from Segamat.
Now that I asked her, she says she didn't learn Chinese at school.
It was from my maternal grandmother.

And the only word in Bahasa I know is Awas.
Like that's gonna be useful?

There's a tree falling on top of you.

"Awas!"
"Uh?"

Only been to Malaysia eighteen times. Wish I could go back. Haven't gone for what, six years now? :(

Awas means caution. You should just say lari(run),and the Malay equivalent of uh is "eh".(Dang it,inner grammar Nazi)
Hmm...Segamat is in Selangor or Johor,I'm not sure.
Anyway,back to the new guy.

And the way I found out what it meant was when we were driving along a road. Thank goodness we avoided the river!

Yeah, back to SubMe.

Not so difficult. I learned to read&write han characters for basic chinese and japanese in 3 or 4 months, and the chinese pronunciation becomes easy once you get the hang of it (I found japanese easier, it's pretty similar to spanish, nearly every syllable is consonant+vocal) :P

Oh, really? :D
Ok, yeah, the sounds are similar, but intonation in Mandarin is nasty....
We should move this to a new thread called "Languages: what do you speak?"

Anyway, bed time.

晚安。睡舒服。
不给那些床虫咬你!

Guess which famous kids rhyme that is?

No, I mean a story that can go many different ways and you can decide what comes next by clicking in certain places.
I actually thought that's what Homestuck was :P

Yeah, it's in Johor :D
Selangor is way up the peninsula, i think....near Kuala Lumpur, right?
I've only been to Malacca, Johor and the capital. Like, stayed at a house, looked around, stayed. :)

Literal Translation:
晚安。睡舒服。
不给那些床虫咬你!
Night night, sleep well, don't let the bed bugs bite you.

What it should be is, "Night night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!"

Yes.If you look at it on a map,it should have two holes punched in it,one for the capital and one for Putrajaya.
