Meditations
Re: Meditations
We've had the option to bring our own computers to school for certain classes, but there's no way I'm ever going to do that here. That's a great way to get robbed.
Your reign is ever growing

your reach is ever growing, spreading like a moss

I'm just over a semester into college, and the more I learn here the more I realize how ass backwards a lot of the teaching methods in grade school were. Most of them seem to believe that science is a series of facts and figures that are true because, well, it's science, so it has to be, and that's what's taught to everyone, and what is generally believed among the populace as a result. It's honestly the reason why so many people feel that "it just isn't for them", or even worse, that it's "lame" or even that it's outright lies. There's always the good teachers who really get it, but even then, they're still under the constraints of the curriculum. The Kakama wrote:Sometimes I feel the education system in my country has taken 25 steps BACKWARDS.
It's why so many people are vulnerable to pseudosciences, I feel. They think that traditional science is a closed and limited collection of facts about how the world works, and they find it to be quite boring and unimaginative. They were never shown how damn weird the world is, or even outright scary. They only know what science knows, and never have they taught us about how much science really doesn't know (which is a lot, mind you). They don't know that science has so much more to do with critical thinking, and that the practices of skepticism that science is founded upon can be so universally applied to anything in one's daily life, especially with our media-driven culture.
I guess it just kinda pains me when people don't want to know things, because I know that someone made them like that.

Why did you quote my Call of Duty post for that?
Your reign is ever growing
Spreading like a moss

your reach is ever growing, spreading like a moss

I agree with what Raxas said. It makes a lot of sense.
That game is terribly (and I mean terribly) overrated. –My OpinionCall of Duty
Balance is imperative; without it, total collapse and destruction is imminent.

Re: Meditations
I think he is referring to mass produced media, valued for it's quantity, not quality.
We have a lot of that these days.![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)
