Re: Awesome pictures
have to think of NaissanceE every so often. It's really cool but I usually hesitate to replay it... it feels very hostile and like if it mocked our civilization with its abstract and actually useless and colourless reproductions of cities, buildings etc.
The net is vast and infinite
Re: Awesome pictures
Funny, I haven't thought of it like that.
Usually when people speculate on NaissanceE they think it is a giant representation of a baby's birth into the world. I don't think it's trying to mock anything in our civilization.
I actually think all those buildings are really cool. And the lights are always on...does that mean there are people inside? O_O Or maybe, relating to the birth analogy, the buildings are all of the genetic coding and DNA sequencing that would take place inside the Mother.
I love to replay this, I always turn on God Mode in command and fly around and try to visit those buildings off in the distance. You can also see different sections of the game from different points, making the whole thing feel more connected and purposeful.
And yes it does feel hostile, but it makes sense when compared to all of the potential for corruption, injury, and defects that can take place inside the womb.

Re: Awesome pictures
Uhm... okay? The end boss is the umbilical cord then, I guess
I'd never say that's wrong, of course, but always imagined a backstory with some apparatus that sees our human created stuff and interepretes it by creating this disturbing world. Somehow, only very mad and >lost< people like Lucy can experience this interpretation.

This is interesting. Makes me want to add a Theory page to the NaissanceE Wiki along with countless other pages that have to be added...

I love those cold and sterile, perfectly geometric worlds. I actualy imagine Layer 8 like that.
