Whats causing those planes to crash is the canyon under the ocean. Its sides keep having rock slides, and when it does, it release a gas that when suck in by the old fashion propeller jet engines, its cause them the piston t break down and just shut off.

The famous 5 planes that went missing in the Bermuda Triangle, they didn't. They miss their flight path due to the winds, and crash landed due to lack of fuel way outside of the Bermuda triangle.
