Correct

Ancient Ruins refers to the outside wind

Correction: 103 refers to outside wind, Ancient Ruins refers to Sub 0 main ambient.
SubWiki 104 Music wrote:The ancient section's (and tomb traps') music is heavily based on the theme heard in Submachine 0. As with the "Lighthouse" music, compared to the older sample, some noise, not unlike the underlying sound perceived in the Loop, has been added. The added noises here consist of rhythmic thumps like a heartbeat; extra notes have replaced the soft two tones from the original ambiance; some metallic clinks; and occasionally the stone-on-stone scraping sound from Sub 0's ambiance is emphasized more. Furthermore the sample has been extended by appending the two first "howls" in reverse to the end. A guitar strum has also been added.

Should we solidify these rules?

1.Two ambients at a time will be contested. If there are only three ambients in a game division we will contest all three at once. Anything above three will be contested by traditional rules, two at a time.

2. We take votes as a forum, and first ambient to reach 5 (subject to change based on activity) votes moves on. One vote per user per pair of ambients.

3. Users can change their vote at any time before five votes is reached on an ambient, but not after.

4. Users are encouraged to share their reasoning for voting. You can explain why you think one ambient should win, and/or why the other shouldn't. Thoughts can range based on musical composition, relevance/connections to the game/area, or by your personal/emotional impact felt by the ambient. I would be very interested in hearing these :D

Alright, well I suppose we should start with Submachine 1 :D only three options, so no need for a bracket.

1. Basement (Sub1)-The first ambient that started it all.

2. Spoon Tune-Music that accompanies the dramatic opening of the drawer containing the spoon.

3. Forest-The sound of freedom?

Voting is open!

damn, sorry, i missed rule 4 DX

my reasoning is that Cathedral is the most complex ambient and the one that makes the best effect; Forest sounds more like background noise, and Spoon sounds too atonal.

Ah nice:) I was poking fun at you for that, which I apologise, rule 4 does say encourage not required ( I'm just a big music freak so I like to hear these descriptions)

no worries :)

atonal is the right word, right? i'm referring to something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrjg3jzP2uI
as in, the lack of a defined key. i don't know much about music :(
