So Subbots looked like humans, and humans looked like subbots. And vice versa when view through the eyes of the opposite party.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. Blame It on my laziness and poor English skills. What I tried to say was: guy spent his life Killing subbots. He thought they captured hum and threw into the cave. He descrbes them as evil beings. But in the end It turns out, that humans did that.
